Where creativity is endless!!!
I teach Gifted Art, AP Studio Art, and Visual Art I & II. We build upon the foundations and fundamental elements of art, while developing skills using a variety of techniques and medias. My students will learn about drawing, painting, 2D design, and 3D art while incorporating art history of past and present artists. I hope to inspire all my students to continue their love and appreciation of art for years to come.

Bio
My name is Whitney Lantrip. I am the Gifted, AP, and Visual Arts II teacher at Center Hill High School. I am very excited to be a part of such an amazing team of teachers and an enthusiastic student body. I am also a sponsor of the Art Society.
I graduated from The University of Memphis in 2009 with a BA in Fine Arts. I received my Master's degree at ASU, in Gifted Education in 2018. As a former special education teacher, I have always had a love for teaching students with special needs and this has translated into my passion for teaching gifted artists. I am an advocate for both public schools and art education. I feel we need to prepare our future and provide the support needed for creativity and artistic growth in our schools and community.
I live in Coldwater, MS and along with my husband, daughter, and our two dogs. We enjoy spending time with our family, friends, and attending Compel Church. My goal as a teacher is to grow my students each day by applying knowledge and motivating them to continue their learning and creativity throughout life. I look forward to teaching this school year and if you ever need to contact me please email me at whitney.lantrip@dcsms.org
