About the Teacher

Education and Experience: I attended the University of Memphis and have a Bachelor's Degree in Special Education. I having been teaching for 18 years in Desoto County. All 18 years of experience have been in a self-contained setting. I taught for 13 years at Magnolia. During my time there I worked with students with Emotional Disabilities, Autism, Intellectual Disabilities, and students with severe and profound disabilities (medically fragile). For the past 7 years I have been in a district wide class with students primarily with ASD and Intellectual Disabilities. Five of the past seven years I have been on the Horn Lake Middle School campus.

Certification(s): I have a Bachelor's Degree in Special Education K-12 Mild Moderate. I am also licensed to teach Elementary Education K-6.

Personal Info: I am very excited to be joining the Center Hill Family. I have been married for 21 years to a wonderful man, Andy, and have two terrific children. My son, Ryan, is a Sophomore at Center Hill High School and plays on the high school baseball team. My daughter, Emma, is in the seventh grade at Center Hill Middle School and enjoys cooking and baking. I have always loved Special Education and cannot image doing anything else. I can't wait to get to know your kiddos and watch the progress they make throughout the year. Mr. Bill has been my teacher assistant for the past 6 years and will be joining the Center Hill Family with me. We are a tag team and work hard together to make sure our students get what they need in order to be successful within the school and out in the community. I will be getting together a school supply list for the 2022-2023 school year within the next couple of weeks. Until then we can always use hand sanitizer, disinfecting wipes, disinfecting spray, kleenex, and a daily folder for your child.
