Greetings,

I hope that you are doing well during this extended break ! There is so much uncertainty concerning how COVID-19 has and will affect our daily lives, as we knew it. One thing for sure is our students will be taken care of and they will be okay. Our leaders are working hard to ensure that we, as teachers have everything we need to reach our students during this extended break. We are all in this together and we will come out stronger than ever!

I can imagine that IEP meetings are the last things that are on your mind. However, IEP season is upon us and we have to hold meetings even though we are not at school.  Technology will be used to facilitate these meetings, as we would not want to do anything against what is being advised by the Center for Disease Control and that of our state and local officials.

Over the next few days your IEP case manager will be reaching out to you via email, text, phone call or School Status to discuss any issues that you may have involving Special Education at CHHS. They will also be contacting you to set up meetings for ESY and annual meetings for the next school year.

As the MET Chair at CHHS it is my job to ensure that students with disabilities are afforded the same opportunity as any other student at CHHS. I want you to know that I am here for you even though we are currently not in school. If there are accommodations that you need to be successful while we are out please let me know.

Please feel free to contact me using the contact link above if you have any questions or concerns.  Stay safe! I look forward to seeing you soon!
