Coach Epting

 

Coach Epting is currently coaching his 3rd year at Center Hill High School Track and Field team.  He works at the high school as a special education teacher.  A native of Jericho, Mississippi, he graduated from East Union Attendance Center in 2009 where he lettered in cross country and baseball.  As a high school athlete, he earned All-State in Mississippi 2A cross country for 6 years.  He won the individual state championship in 2A in 2005 and 2008. 

He received his bachelor's degree in Physical Education from Blue Mountain College in 2013.  He is currently certified to teach Physical Education, English, Social Studies, and Special Education.  Epting competed for the BMC Toppers Cross Country team from 2009-2012.  As an NAIA Athlete, he earned All TranSouth Athletic Confterence honors all 4 years and was Conference Runner of the Year in 2012.  Epting qualified to compete in the NAIA Nationals in 2010 and 2012.

Epting began his coaching career immediately after college eligibility. His first coaching experience was as a student assistant Track & Field coach at New Albany High School in 2013.  He helped train distance jumpers and high jumpers to a boys 4A North Half Title.  Epting then worked as an assistant back at his home high school of East Union in the fall of 2013 in cross country.  His aid led the Epic Urchins to a 2A girls 3rd place and boys 2nd place finish at State Championships. After a quick baseball gig at Booneville Middle School, Epting found himself back in Track & Field in 2014 at Ingomar Attendance Center as Head Coach. In 2015, the Falcons finished 3rd in 2A State XC Champioinships.  Epting also coached a school record number of athletes to make All State in Track & Field.  After 2 years as head of the Falcons, Epting took opportunity to work for Cross Country/Track & Field at Center Hill High School.  Epting also earned USATF Level 1 and Level 2 Certififications in Coaching Youth Athletics in 2016.

PLEASE ENTER PARK FROM HWY 30 WEST EXIT (HOSPITAL EXIT) THEN TURN RIGHT ON W BANKHEAD ST. PARK ENTRANCE WILL BE ON RIGHT

 

DIRECTIONS: TAKE I-22 SOUTH, TURN ON EXIT 61 (HOSPITAL EXIT). TURN LEFT GOING TOWARD HOSPITAL. TURN RIGHT ONTO BANKHEAD ST. ENTRANCE WILL BE HALF A MILE ON THE RIGHT TO BNA TENNIS AND SOCCER COMPLEX. FOLLOW DRIVEWAY ALL THE WAY TO SOCCER FIELDS.

 

 

Directions To Shelby FarmS:

1.     385 West 

2.     Take 240 E Toward Nashville

3.     Take Exit 13 for Walnut Grove 

4.     Turn Left at 3rd Red Light on Farm Rd 

5.     Turn Right into Shelby Farms at Gate 1 

6.     Stay straight up long hill then take right at the top and follow around pond

7.     Turn Left on Pine Line Dr W (playground will be on your left) 

8.     Follow road through wood and course will be on left. 

9.     Parking will be near Start Line to the Right and behind Finish line to the left.

 

 

Directions to Center Hill High School:

 

The start of the cross country course is at the back of school by the track and field.  If you could park your bus in the parking lot beside the tennis courts and walk to the track complex in the back of school.

 

From Highway 72

 

Take the Highway 302 Exit towards Olive Branch continue until you pass the DeSoto County line.  The next traffic light is at Center Hill Road take a right going north.  You will go to the traffic light at DeSoto Road and take a left.  DeSoto turns into Mustang drive which leads you to the 4-way stop in front of CHHS.  The Gym is located at the back of the school and is accessible from the student parking lot on the west side of the building. Football teams and bands should park in the drive between the school and the football stadium. Visitor parking for football games is located on the North end of the stadium.

 

 From Highway 78

 

Take the Bethel Road/Hackscross Road Exit.  Go north toward Goodman Road which is the 2nd traffic light. Take a right onto Goodman Road/Highway 302.  Go one block about 1/2 mile and turn left onto Polk Lane.  Go 1.5 miles on Polk Lane and turn right onto Kirk Road. Follow Kirk Road for 1 mile to the 4 way stop.  You will be in front of the school. The Gym is located at the back of the school and is accessible from the student parking lot on the west side of the building. Football teams and bands should park in the drive between the school and the football stadium. Visitor parking for football games is located on the North end of the stadium.

 

From Interstate 55

 

Take the Highway 302/Goodman Road Exit toward Olive Branch. Continue on Highway 302 passing Hackcross Road.  Go one block about 1/2 mile and turn left on Polk Lane.  Go 1.5 miles on Polk Lane and turn right onto Kirk Road. Follow Kirk Road for 1 mile to the 4 way stop.  You will be in front of the school. The Gym is located at the back of the school and is accessible from the student parking lot on the west side of the building. Football teams and bands should park in the drive between the school and the football stadium. Visitor parking for football games is located on the North end of the stadium.

 

 

DIRECTIONS TO CHOCTAW TRAILS CLINTON, MISSISSIPPI:

 (State Cross-Country Meet Course)

 

1.       Take I-20 to Clinton, Mississippi.

2.       Take Exit 36 and go south on Springridge Road 1.5 miles. 

3.       At the stop light, turn left on McRaven  and proceed 1.75 miles.

4.       When you pass Kossen Equipment Company on the right, you will see a white sign on the left  that says Choctaw Trails. 

5.       Turn left into Choctaw Trails and proceed .25 mile to parking areas
